Lansing Public Schools Educational Advancement Foundation - Dr. Laurence MacQueen Education Scholarship Fund
Established in honor of Dr. Laurence MacQueen, who served on the Lansing Educational Advancement Foundation. He was also a Lansing School District Administrator, a member of the Michigan Educational Association Leadership and was a strong advocate for the schools and their students.Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
-- Student must be a current graduating senior attending a Lansing School District High School
-- Student must provide a high school transcript, personal statement, career goals, an acceptance letter from an accredited 2-year or 4-year community college, college or university
-- Provide a list of extracurricular activities and pertinent background and financial information
-- Provide at least two letters of recommendation
-- Student must fill out the LEAF Scholarship application and submit all materials by the printed due date
-- Submissions will be considered for all appropriate/qualified scholarships using a rubric scoring grid
-- Only students entering the field of education are eligible to apply
-- Student will be awarded $1,000
-- Personal statement must include an answer to the following question, “What characteristics/experiences do I have that will allow me to influence others in a positive manner?”
